A disturbing discovery in a Palma de Mallorca reception center led to a major police investigation after a man reportedly forgot his mobile device there. In an attempt to locate the owner, authorities accessed the phone and uncovered a troubling collection of images involving children. The material included numerous photos of boys and girls photographed nude or in swimsuits, some as young as two to eleven years old. The images were reportedly captured in Palma and nearby coastal areas. After the owner was identified, investigators moved to arrest the individual on charges related to the creation and distribution of child sexual content, marking a serious case of alleged corruption of minors.
The sequence began with a routine police inquiry in Palma when the misplaced phone was checked by officers hoping to reunite it with its rightful user. During that process, a file scan revealed a gallery rich with material of a pedophilic nature. This discovery prompted a broader investigative focus, with authorities confirming the owner of the device and initiating steps to determine the extent of the alleged offenses.
Law enforcement then brought the device to the attention of the Technological Crime and Cybercrime Group, a specialized unit within the National Police, to enable a careful forensic review. This team conducted a thorough extraction and analysis of the data, streamlining access to the phone’s content and ensuring proper evidence handling in accordance with judicial requirements.
Investigators later requested a judicial transcript and expert analysis of the phone’s contents. The forensic review identified 35 photographs depicting minors with their genitals exposed, with most images linked to beaches in Palma or the broader Balearic Islands region. In addition, investigators found 267 photographs of minors wearing swimsuits presented in sexually suggestive poses, ranging from ages two to eleven. These findings provided the basis for the arrest and for pursuing additional court-mandated actions to assess the scope of the material involved.
As a consequence of the newly uncovered material, the owner of the intercepted device was located and the case progressed toward formal charges, including allegations of producing and possessing pedophilic material. The investigation indicated that another mobile device had been seized around the same time, suggesting there may be more files with similar characteristics awaiting examination. Authorities stated that the ongoing analysis would be forwarded to the judicial authorities for further disposal to determine whether additional pedophilic content exists on related devices.
