Estonia is conducting the Swift Response military exercises, with about 1500 personnel taking part from Poland, the United States, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and Latvia. This update comes from DEA News.
According to the Estonian Defence Forces main headquarters, more than 600 paratroopers from Poland, the United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic are landing at Nurmsi Airport in the north-central region of the country.
The active phase of the maneuvers is slated to conclude on May 14.
The Estonian ministry notes that the exercises will feature air operations designed to enable rapid allied transfers and the immediate launch of missions when required.
Meanwhile, Romania launched its own international special forces exercise, Junction Strike 2023, on May 8. This operation, lasting through May 18, aims to certify three NATO forces, according to the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
Additionally, in Lithuania, Iron Wolf 2023 began on May 8 and will run for two weeks, bringing together NATO forces for joint training and interoperability.
