National Police officers have detained a 27-year-old self-described influencer on allegations of attempting to take a 36-year-old man’s life. The alleged attack involved placing a knife at the victim’s throat, a mere two centimeters from the aorta, during an incident that occurred on May 16 in Estepona, Malaga.
The victim survived and required emergency surgery at a Marbella hospital. Legal authorities have indicated that the individual under investigation for attempted murder should face imprisonment based on the evidence gathered so far.
The suspect, described as a popular influencer, had previously attracted attention after a separate incident in Sweden where he was found lifeless in a bathtub at the location associated with the death of his girlfriend. That case resulted in a two-year detention, but the court later released him when it could not establish the facts beyond a reasonable doubt.
In Spain, investigators view this case as a serious security concern. The suspect is accused of stabbing a man he met in the parking area of a Estepona hotel, with the motive allegedly linked to a debt dispute.
UDEV agents from the Estepona Police Station report that the suspect exited his vehicle holding a knife and advanced toward the victim as the latter attempted to flee. The assailant delivered a stab wound to the neck and then struck again. The victim managed to shield himself with his forearm, resulting in a 20-centimeter wound before authorities intervened.
Following the assault, the attacker fled the scene, while the injured man received medical attention from paramedics who stabilized him after significant blood loss and transported him to a hospital for further treatment.
Ground intelligence and on-site inspections by National Police officers led to the recovery of the weapon, which was discarded into nearby shrubbery while investigators worked to track the suspect. The knife recovered during the operation was linked to the ongoing case.
Investigators identified the individual believed to be the architect of the stabbing and noted that security measures were enhanced to avoid detection, as the suspect did not have a fixed address at the time.
On May 24, law enforcement located the suspect at a hotel in Mijas, Malaga, and arrested him. This is not his first brush with the law in Spain. Records indicate a prior arrest last year for stabbing another person with a broken bottle at a Marbella party.
