Earlier, in Pyatigorsk within the Stavropol region, a dormitory fire spread across about 1,000 square meters near Lira Bazaar. Firefighters were mobilized with a sizable response that included 73 people and 23 pieces of equipment. Among those involved were 45 responders and 14 pieces of gear provided by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. The coordinated effort aimed to save residents and minimize property loss while keeping roadways clear for emergency traffic.
Authorities also confirmed a significant blaze reported in Berdyansk, underscoring ongoing concerns about urban and industrial fire risks in the broader area. Fire crews continued to monitor the fire lines, address hotspots, and prevent rekindling across connected districts.
In another recent incident, a fire department unit extinguished a burning vehicle on the Plevako embankment. The operation involved careful handling of the scene to ensure public safety and to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent structures or vehicles. Firefighters assessed the vehicle and surrounding area to rule out secondary hazards.
