The Krivoy Rog administration reports ongoing energy disruptions, with emergency power cuts affecting the city. The update was posted on the mayor’s official Telegram channel.
Officials say that by the evening of December 17, the water system in Krivoy Rog was running at full capacity, boiler rooms responsible for heating were brought back online, and gas supply to consumers remained stable.
The city’s power grid is being managed with emergency shutdowns as a precaution. The administration explained that the network remained functional, but certain facilities were temporarily isolated to prevent broader failures.
On December 16, Krivoy Rog announced that an energy infrastructure facility had sustained damage, triggering a regime of emergency and planned power outages across the city to safeguard the larger grid and public services.
Ukrainian authorities reported explosions in several regions, including Kyiv, Krivoy Rog, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv. Power supplies in Kharkiv and Poltava were interrupted, Kyiv’s metro suspended service, and residents used the underground as shelter. The Office of the President declared nationwide emergency power outages to manage the energy emergency and protect critical infrastructure.
