The body of a 67-year-old man, already retired, was discovered in his Elche home this morning, bearing multiple stab wounds that appear to have been inflicted with a knife in the Carrús district. The investigation has been taken over by the Elche Judicial Brigade, and two individuals have already been detained in connection with the events. The deceased, according to local sources, was employed in a neighborhood workplace; some reports indicate that this establishment could have been a pharmacy.
A 112 emergency call from nearby residents prompted responders to rush to the scene. Local Police patrols and Fire Department units assigned to the area arrived first, and one of the firefighters gained entry through a window, where they found the man lifeless in a pool of blood. Police protocols were immediately activated, and the duty court was notified. A judicial commission, accompanied by a coroner, was dispatched to the residence to begin investigative steps.
Addictions
The victim sustained stab wounds across the body and was transported to the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Alicante, where an autopsy was performed this morning. Investigators interviewed numerous neighbors, including several who did not live alone. At present, two individuals are providing statements to the National Police as suspects or participants in these events.
This marks the second homicide reported in the Alicante province within 72 hours. Last Saturday, the body of a 76-year-old British woman was found in Orihuela Costa, also stabbed. Her 82-year-old Norwegian partner was subsequently detained in connection with that case, which has raised concerns about domestic violence dynamics in the region.
