Testimony
Elche Local Police reported the detention of a 34-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor at a local hostel. The incident, which prompted a police response due to the presence of a visibly aggressive and potentially intoxicated individual, is being treated with due seriousness as the investigation continues.
According to the victim, while he stood in line for food, the man leered, made unwanted contact, and touched the victim without consent. The sequence of events continued with the same person approaching the victim again while he was waiting to purchase ice cream later on, this time with a companion who was nearby at the time.
During the initial inquiry, a separate witness who was seated at a nearby table described a similar attempted contact by the same individual, noting that the suspect had managed to get close and behave in a way that caused alarm. The witness also indicated that the alleged aggressor tried to bypass usual social boundaries, creating a threatening atmosphere for anyone nearby.
As a result of these accounts, the man was taken into custody and transported to a police station for formal processing. Authorities also contacted the parents of the minor to inform them of what happened and to outline the procedure to be followed in pursuing the case. The police emphasized that safeguarding procedures would be followed to support the victim and ensure the appropriate steps in the investigation are taken.
