Elche Local Police arrested a 43 year old man for throwing a shoe at his wife and grabbing her by the neck. Municipal sources indicated that surveillance in the El Altet area was needed after a woman reported that her husband assaulted her.
A patrol went to the home and located the couple and a three year old child in the living room.
Argument
According to the woman’s statement, a dispute arose because she wanted to take their son to the doctor. The assailant threw an object at her without warning, struck her on the right cheekbone, and seized her by the hair and neck, as later stated in the press release issued by the Elche City Council.
The victim indicated that this was not the first time she had been attacked physically.
The man claimed he worked night shifts, did not want to take the child because he was sleepy, and believed the events described by the woman. Following these events, he was arrested and transported to a police station.
