A man was sentenced by the Second Division of the Valencian Provincial Court to eight years in prison after being found guilty of sexual assault. The case centers on an incident in Oliva, Valencia, occurring in September 2020, inside a home shared by the offender, his mother, and his son. The court’s findings describe a violent act carried out against a woman who had been employed to care for the defendant’s elderly mother.
According to the court, around 2:30 a.m. on September 5, the complainant, aged 53, was resting in her room after completing her night shift caring for the elderly woman. The defendant is reported to have entered the room while naked, despite the victim’s repeated requests for him to leave. The woman, who had just finished her shower and was briefly wrapped in a towel, attempted to deter him, yet the accused persisted.
The court notes that the defendant, a 52-year-old Spanish national, forcibly pulled the victim by her hair, pulled her head back, and subjected her to oral sex. It further states that the assailant inserted fingers into the victim’s vagina. After the assault, the defendant allegedly warned the victim that he would kill her if she disclosed the events.
As a consequence of the violence used during the assault, the victim sustained minor injuries to the neck, lips, and genital area. The court also records the development of post-traumatic stress disorder, which the document describes as chronic. In terms of accountability, the offender was ordered to compensate the victim with a total amount of 47,361 euros.
During the proceedings, the Prosecutor’s Office had requested a ten-year prison term for the crime of injury, a charge for which the defendant was acquitted. The offender, who was represented by attorney Alberto Gil, maintained that the actions were merely a massage. The final ruling established a prison sentence of eight years for sexual assault and included provisions for five years of probation in addition to the eight-year term.
