EasyJet pilots are extending their strike into a new phase in Spain, with a three-day stoppage that marks the second term of industrial action. The Spanish Airline Pilots Association (Sepla) reports that the 72-hour halt disrupted several flights, resulting in eight cancellations in total on Sunday, including six at Palma de Mallorca and two at Barcelona.

The cancellations occurred between midnight and noon on Sunday, affecting international departures and inbound arrivals, with affected routes including Birmingham, Milan, and Geneva. This pattern underscores the strike’s reach across key European connections and airports during the period in question.

The union noted that the strike’s follow-up is now operating at full strength, with assurances of maximum respect for the minimum service obligations that have been agreed upon. Sepla emphasized that the active protections for passengers and a consistent service plan remain in effect as the dispute continues.

In total, eight cancellations on Sunday join a broader tally: ten were canceled on Saturday, sixteen on the preceding Friday, and thirty-six during the first pause window on August 12, 13, and 14. This cumulatively brings the documented cancellations since the EasyJet action began to seventy, according to Sepla’s Unions Unit, reflecting the ongoing impact on schedules and traveler plans across the country and region.
