In the Ryazan Regional Clinical Hospital, medical teams helped a girl after a wireless headset became lodged in her ear. Local reporting notes that the incident drew attention in the region and served as a reminder of how easily small devices can end up in sensitive places.
The child, a resident of Ryazan, arrived at a medical facility with a suspected foreign body in the ear after the device slipped deeper into the ear canal. She had tried to reach the micro headset herself and even used a magnet in an attempt to pull it free. Growing concern about possible complications prompted her to seek professional evaluation and care from doctors.
The headset penetrated deeply into the ear canal, triggering inflammation. The patient was admitted for thorough assessment and treatment, with clinicians monitoring for any signs of infection or further injury as part of the standard care plan.
Removal required surgical intervention under general anesthesia. Specialists performed the procedure with the aid of a microscope to precisely locate and extract the object, ensuring minimal trauma to the delicate ear structures and preserving hearing function.
Previously reported were separate incidents in Bashkiria involving swallowed earphones. A schoolgirl from Ufa woke during the night with severe throat pain, recalling that she had fallen asleep with wireless headphones on and noticed one earphone was missing from the pillow. Ambulance services were summoned, and an X-ray at the hospital revealed a foreign object in the teenager’s digestive tract, leading to admission to the surgical department for removal.
In another instance, a man in India reportedly swallowed around sixty non-edible items, which led to hospital care. These stories underscore the risks posed by small devices and emphasize the importance of seeking prompt medical attention when a foreign object is suspected in the ear or elsewhere in the body.
