DXC Technology has established a new software testing and modernization center in Alicante, choosing the historic Tabimed facilities in the city center. The building spans more than 8,000 square meters across two floors, located in the capital of the province. Sabadell Bank is a key client, and the center will test applications for Sabadell after the competition the bank hosted to select a partner for this service.

Although the official opening is scheduled for next week, around fifty professionals are already working at the site, according to administrator Manuela Esclapez. The team is expected to grow quickly as operations expand, with projections suggesting the staff could rise from about 120 by year-end to around 200 in the medium term.

The center will pursue two main activities. First, a comprehensive testing service to ensure that computer programs run smoothly and meet quality standards. Second, an update and modernization track called inheritance transformation, which uses low-code techniques to refresh older applications that no longer meet current needs or have expired.

In the first area, the contract covers the next five years, awarded alongside Accenture and NTT Data. Banco Sabadell organized the competition for this service, and some members of the team responsible for launching the center come from Sabadell itself.

Esclapez emphasizes that testing is among the most requested services in today’s tech sector. The testing phase prior to a program’s final launch is a critical step in software development, and the center already has requests from ten additional clients to contract such services beyond the Sabadell project.

On talent recruitment, the goal is to attract seasoned professionals, some with twenty-five years of experience, while also bringing in younger talent. To support this, DXC has signed agreements with regional training centers, including the University of Alicante, regional middle schools, and partners from Miguel Hernández University and CEU. Esclapez notes opportunities to collaborate with the company’s worldwide teams and technology partners.

DXC Technology traces its roots to the former HP technology services arm and the 2017 merger with CSC, creating a large global services company. Today, the organization employs more than 130,000 people worldwide and reports annual revenue above 17 billion. In the Iberian Peninsula, the local division already employs more than 7,000 staff and handles substantial invoicing activity.
