A new DXC Technology center has arisen in Alicante, a development that the company has already confirmed. The multinational selected the former Tabimed facilities, located in the capital of the province, within a building spanning more than 8,000 square meters across two floors. The choice aligns with a strategic aim: Sabadell will be the primary client after DXC won a competition organized by the bank, focusing on testing and optimization of apps in Alicante.

Although the official opening is scheduled for next week, the center already employs about fifty professionals, as described by administrator Manuela Esclapez. This figure is expected to rise quickly as operations expand, with projections to reach around 120 by year’s end and potentially 200 in the medium term.

The center will concentrate on two main activities. First, practice testing, which involves the essential checks to ensure the correct operation of software developed for clients. Second, inheritance transformation, a process of updating legacy applications that no longer meet current requirements or have expired, using low-code programming approaches to modernize systems efficiently.

In its first phase, the center secured a five-year commitment for services after being shortlisted alongside Accenture and NTT Data in a selection process conducted by Banco Sabadell. Some of the team that led the center’s launch had previously been part of the client organization, underscoring continuity and collaboration between the banks and DXC.

As Esclapez notes, testing remains among the most requested services in today’s tech landscape. The testing phase prior to a program’s final rollout is a critical element of software development, and DXC has positioned itself to meet demand from ten additional clients seeking similar services in addition to the Sabadell engagement.

On talent strategy, DXC plans to attract seasoned professionals, including individuals with decades of experience, while also bringing in younger talent. The company has already signed agreements with regional training centers, including the University of Alicante, several secondary schools, and related institutions such as Miguel Hernández University and CEUs. These partnerships are designed to foster collaboration with DXC’s global teams and technology partners, broadening local capabilities and creating a steady pipeline of qualified professionals.

DXC Technology traces its origins to the HP technology consulting arm and the 2017 merger with CSC, establishing a major global footprint. The company now employs more than 130,000 people worldwide and reports annual revenues surpassing 17 billion. Within the Iberian Peninsula, the business already counts more than 7,000 employees and processes over 500 million in invoices, highlighting the scale and regional impact of the group.
