In the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg, police carried out a major drug seizure linked to a man with three prior convictions. The seized substances were found at his residence, according to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The operation underscores ongoing efforts to disrupt illicit drug networks in the city and surrounding region.

The 35-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, previously convicted three times for the sale and possession of narcotics, was identified as the suspect. Authorities reported that a substantial cache of illegal substances was recovered from his apartment. During the search, investigators discovered weighing scales, plastic containers, and two bags containing white powder, all of which were collected as potential evidence in the case.

Laboratory analysis of the seized materials revealed quantities aimed at distribution: nearly 300 grams of a substance containing phenethylamine and 199 grams of mephedrone. Based on these findings, a criminal case was opened for drug trafficking, and the suspect was detained as part of the investigation, pending further judicial action.

Earlier records indicate that the individual previously traveled with a large quantity of marijuana, totaling 6 kilograms, wrapped in chocolate during a train journey across Russia. This prior incident contributes to the ongoing scrutiny by law enforcement and highlights the persistent threat of illegal drugs entering circulation through various routes.
