In Alicante, police operations targeted a major drug network identified as one of the Northern Territory’s largest outlets, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals believed to be part of a criminal organization focused on distributing cocaine, cannabis, and hashish from a residential property in Virgín de Carmen. Authorities reported the seizure of more than one kilogram of cocaine and a substantial cash sum over 25,000 euros, which investigators found concealed behind wall plugs in the home.

Six men and three women, aged between 17 and 50 and including a minor, were brought to the attention of the justice system, with five facing formal arrest decisions as part of the case.

Investigations showed that the organization’s leaders had previously been detained in 2019 for drug trafficking. After reorganizing, they rebuilt their operation and emerged as the primary narcotics suppliers north of Alicante, coordinating drug distribution from a residence that operated around the clock, seven days a week.

Three individuals actively managed the organization, which operated from a house converted into a constant narcotics hub.

Authorities noted signs of smuggling activity at the site, with cocaine, cannabis, and hashish moving through the operation. Investigators discovered that a portion of the premises functioned as a warehouse for marijuana and hashish, supplying buyers from the location. The person identified as responsible for the warehouse was reported to be the son of the couple running the operation, who was believed to head the criminal network.

Further inquiries revealed how cocaine was covertly transported to the ground floor, aided by a middle-aged woman with no prior criminal record. In several instances, a younger son of the same family helped move the drugs from the residence to the sale location. The substances were distributed under the supervision of the organization, with some trips occurring up to three times daily depending on market demand at the supply site.

Law enforcement noted that a large number of individuals from outside the neighborhood would arrive at the scene, park briefly, move quickly, and depart in short order, returning to their vehicles before leaving the area.

As investigators identified the full roster of organization members, a coordinated police operation was executed. More than a kilogram of cocaine, small quantities of cannabis and hashish, and cash exceeding 25,000 euros were seized from the arrestees during searches of four houses. The operation resulted in the capture of all group members and the seizure of several precision scales, with the hidden cash and items recovered from behind wall sockets.

The Northern District Police Station Investigation Group I was responsible for conducting the inquiry, part of the National Police Service in Alicante.
