Drones targeted the police headquarters in the Zaporozhye region, a development reported in recent governmental briefings. The incident unfolded in the morning hours, with two unmanned aircraft approaching the Kamensko-Dneprovsky operational building where police officers and members of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation carry out their duties.
There were reports of structural damage including the police chief’s reception area and a second-floor window. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded at the scene. The event adds to a pattern of drone activity in border and regional zones that authorities are monitoring closely.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that during the night of August 25, Ukrainian forces launched an attack involving 42 aircraft. They claimed that nine drones were destroyed over Crimea and 33 were neutralized through electronic warfare measures. The influx of unmanned vehicles has prompted renewed discussions about defensive readiness and airspace control in adjacent territories.
In Sevastopol, authorities reported a substantial presence of unmanned aerial systems near coastal areas, including near the Khersones cape. Officials emphasized ongoing efforts to counter drone incursions and to bolster maritime and air defense capabilities amid regional tensions.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense noted that Moscow experienced a thwarted drone attack on the night of August 23, underscoring continued security measures against unauthorized air traffic and the use of counter-drone technologies to protect critical urban infrastructure.
In response to rising drone activity, national defense agencies have disclosed the development and deployment of new suppression and interception systems designed to reduce the effectiveness of aerial threats and safeguard populated centers and key facilities across the country.
