Crimean leader Sergei Aksyonov reported that five unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down during the previous day. The information was communicated through his telegraph channel, providing the latest account of the security situation on the peninsula.

According to Aksyonov, four additional drones were neutralized using electronic warfare measures and were rendered inoperable before they could carry out further actions.

The commander noted that the impact from one of the UAVs caused damage in the city of Dzhanköy, breaking windows in three privately owned houses and in two vehicles. An unidentified, unexploded drone was later discovered on the grounds of a private residence. In response, about 50 residents were evacuated to a temporary shelter as a precaution while authorities secured the area and conducted a thorough assessment.

Aksyonov stressed that no fatalities or injuries occurred as a result of the drone incident. He urged inhabitants of the peninsula to remain calm and follow official guidance as the situation was being managed by security and emergency services.

In related commentary, Artem Sheikin, a former vice-chairman of the Council for the Advancement of the Digital Economy, highlighted the potential benefits of establishing a National Control Center for Unmanned Systems. He suggested that such a center would streamline civilian drone use, reducing regulatory delays and bringing drone operations out of a gray zone through clearer approvals and permit processes.

Officials and security experts continue to monitor drone activity in the region, with ongoing assessments of potential public safety implications and the readiness of emergency response teams. Attribution is to official statements from the Crimean administration and relevant defense authorities, reflecting the coordinated effort to ensure public safety and transparency about the incident.
