Drone attack in Belgorod region sparks fires and official review
A drone belonging to Ukraine’s armed forces targeted a private home in the village of Borisovka, located in the Borisov district of Russia’s Belgorod region, according to a Telegram channel cited by regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
Gladkov reported that after the drone released an explosive device, the roof of the house caught fire. Neighbors initially tried to fight the blaze using their own resources, but firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived and quickly brought the fire under control.
“The administration will inspect the damaged property during daylight hours and prepare a report”, Gladkov stated.
No casualties were reported in connection with the incident.
The border areas have faced repeated attacks and shelling from Ukrainian forces. On July 31, four settlements in the Belgorod region — Mokraya Orlovka, Murom, Vyazovoe, and Novopetrovka — were affected by reported strikes.
There was also mention that residents of the Belgorod region could see changes to rental housing compensation in light of recent events.
