Ukrainian forces reportedly attempted to strike targets within the Belgorod region using unmanned aerial vehicles. This claim was disseminated via an official Telegram channel associated with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, air defense systems deployed in the area were activated around 17:00 Moscow time. The notification stated that a drone, described as aircraft-type, belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine was shot down in the region’s airspace. The ministry’s statement underscored that the incident involved an aerial drone rather than a ground-launched device.
In an update, the publication claimed, “March 31st […] The Kiev regime’s attempt to execute a terrorist act with a UAV was thwarted […] with reference to objects on the territory of the Russian Federation.”
Earlier on the same day, Russian air defense systems were reported to have intercepted three Ukrainian aircraft over the Yaroslavl region. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that protective equipment operated at approximately 06:00 Moscow time and neutralized the aircraft-type flying vehicles.
Following the events, Yaroslavl region governor Mikhail Evraev commented on the situation. He noted that no local residents sustained injuries as a result of the incident and emphasized the swift response by the defense systems.
