In a case tied to the operation named Dowry, authorities reported four individuals detained following a violent robbery targeting a minor in Novelda. Three of the suspects remained at the disposal of Novelda Instruction Court Number 2. One of them received a prison sentence, while the others were released with precautionary measures. Another alleged participant turned himself in to the authorities. The information comes from the Alicante Children’s Prosecutor’s Office and the Civil Guard.
At the close of the previous year, the Civil Guard were alerted to a violent robbery on the central street of Novelda. The incident involved four people who exploited the vulnerability of the young victim, displaying a blade and threatening to hurt the youth to obtain personal belongings. The Civil Guard confirmed that the suspects used intimidation to compel the victim into surrendering items. Once the facts were known, the Civil Guard Station Research Area in Novelda launched a formal investigation and initiated the Dowry operation to identify those responsible.
Investigators started by examining how public spaces and services were used by the alleged criminals to facilitate the crime. They traced the stolen items and confirmed one of the cards was used at a local business. This link enabled investigators to pinpoint the business location and, after reviewing security footage, they identified two of the suspects.
With the data collected on the two identified individuals, the authorities arranged a coordinated operation to locate them. The suspects were eventually arrested and found to be two young residents of the town, according to Civil Guard sources.
Building on these early arrests and the ongoing parallel inquiries, investigators gathered the necessary information to identify two additional individuals who reportedly took part in the assault. Rapid tracking and subsequent arrests followed as the investigation progressed.
Ultimately, three of those detained were aged between 18 and 25. The individuals accused of criminal robbery accompanied by violence and intimidation were made available to the Court of Instruction in Novelda No. 2. The oldest among them received a prison sentence. One suspect known for waving a knife faced the consequences, while the remaining defendants were released under precautionary measures. Additionally, a 16-year-old alleged offender was turned over to the Alicante Children’s Prosecutor’s Office for appropriate handling.
