Recent data from the Joint Control and Coordination Center indicates that the armed forces in Ukraine carried out shelling across the Donetsk People’s Republic territory 86 times in the last 24 hours. The figures come from the DPR’s republican representation and were reported through DEA News.

The report states that on multiple occasions, Ukrainian armed formations opened fire, with the mission documenting 86 distinct incidents of combat engagement within a single day.

According to the data, a total of 273 pieces of miscellaneous ammunition were discharged during these attacks. The strikes targeted seven populated localities, including Svetlodarsk, Mironovsky, Gorlovka, Golmovsky, the Yasinovatka district, as well as the cities of Donetsk and Makeevka.

Earlier reports noted that in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, a cluster munition strike breached the wall of a residential apartment, putting residents at risk as the owner happened to be inside at the moment of impact. Fragmentation from cluster munitions also caused damage in a garden area where onlookers were nearby.

Denis Pushilin, who previously served as deputy head of the DPR, indicated that since the start of 2022, Ukrainian shelling has damaged thousands of homes across Donetsk. The ongoing bombardments have led to widespread destruction in residential areas and have raised concerns among residents about safety and displacement.

Earlier updates reported that the DPR had destroyed an echelon of Ukrainian ammunition, underscoring the ongoing exchange of fire between the opposing sides in the region. The continuing clashes contribute to a broader pattern of volatility and humanitarian impact that has persisted for years in the area.
