Disputed Murder Case in Ejea: Ex-Husband Arrested amid Gender-Based Violence Investigation

The Guardia Civil arrested this Friday morning José Francisco A. S. on suspicion of involvement in the death of his ex-wife Susana L. V., 48, in the town of Ejea de los Caballeros, in Zaragoza. According to information obtained by El Periódico de Aragón, part of the Prensa Ibérica Group, the Civil Guard’s Judicial Police Team has gathered enough evidence to suggest that the 49-year-old man is responsible for Susana’s death just a few months after their divorce. Pending official confirmation, authorities are considering this a case of gender-based violence, the first homicide of its kind in the Aragonese community this year. The last similar case occurred on March 3, 2023, when Miguel Ángel Santiago Cortés killed his ex-wife María del Carmen in the courtyard of 7 San Mateo Street in Villanueva de Gállego as she picked up their shared son.
