Dialprix Expands with New Convenient Store Model in Alicante and Announces Major Logistics Investment
Elche-based Dialprix unveils a new convenience-focused supermarket format designed to better fit the fast pace of modern life. The first store to carry this model opened in the center of Alicante and is named to reflect its purpose: a convenient supermarket. The concept blends quick, everyday shopping with on-site dining, extending service hours to start at eight in the morning and run until nine thirty in the evening. The initiative marks a shift toward closer alignment with customer needs, offering both groceries and a dining area within the same location. [Citation: Dialprix press release, mid-2025]
In announcing the rollout, the chain stated that the inaugural store with the new format required an investment of six hundred thousand euros. The move is framed as part of a broader expansion strategy that includes the development of a new logistics platform in Monforte del Cid. This facility spans twenty-seven thousand square meters on a sixty-five thousand square meter plot, nearly doubling the capacity of the current Elche headquarters, which covers about thirteen thousand square meters. The new facilities are intended to accelerate the growth of the Dialprix network, enabling the company to pursue a bold goal: doubling turnover by 2030 and surpassing five hundred million euros in annual revenue. In addition to expanding with its current format, the company is testing new layouts in central Alicante that respond to consumer feedback. The Alicante store recently refreshed its departments, adding more options for freshly prepared meals and beverages, including salads, hot meals, coffees, baked goods, snacks, sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas. The renewed layout also features a dedicated area for homemade smoothies and ice cream, designed to enhance guest comfort and convenience. [Citation: Dialprix press release, mid-2025]
To ensure maximum comfort, a designated dining area has been introduced within the supermarket so customers can enjoy meals on-site. The overall design emphasizes eco-efficiency, with refrigerated furniture that minimizes energy use without compromising product quality. Equipment now operates using natural refrigerants that protect the ozone layer and limit global warming impact, helping to maintain a reliable supply of fresh and frozen products while improving the shopping experience. The plan also anticipates significant efficiency gains, with projected energy savings exceeding twenty percent. [Citation: Dialprix press release, mid-2025]
