Olga Suvorova, a human rights defender associated with the Soft Power movement, was detained at Krasnoyarsk airport. The Soft Power Telegram channel reported the incident. Suvorova had returned from a meeting in Moscow, according to the same source.
The channel claims the arrest stems from an accusation that Suvorova authored a false report against an inspector from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ economic department, triggering a preliminary investigation check. Soft Power notes that the move may be connected to events from October of this year, when Suvorova said she had been assaulted by a police officer.
At present, Suvorova is with an investigator and her lawyer. She refused to provide a statement due to health concerns, and an ambulance was summoned because she was experiencing high blood pressure.
Earlier, Moscow’s Basmanny District Court extended the preventive measure against lawyer Igor Sergunin, who is accused of involvement in an extremist community, until March 13, according to an informed source.
There were prior reports of the detention of young saboteurs in Moscow.
