A scooter incident in Moscow led to the detention of a driver after a five-year-old boy was struck and injured, triggering a police response the same day.
On August 26, authorities received reports that a scooter rider collided with a five-year-old boy on Kadyrov Street. The person behind the scooter was identified and subsequently detained by local police and brought to the district department for processing.
Medical teams in Moscow attended to the child following the collision. The youngster, who had been playing near a fountain when the incident occurred, underwent jaw surgery to repair injuries sustained in the crash. Investigators noted that the collision happened in a busy central area where a pedestrian pathway existed alongside the fountain, yet the rider chose to cross in a way that put bystanders at risk.
After the impact, the scooter rider fled the scene, and the child was transported to a hospital in a serious condition. The emergency response aimed to stabilize the boy and address ongoing concerns about his injuries.
Medical staff reported that the boy’s teeth had shifted inward as a result of the collision. In addition to the jaw fracture, clinicians applied a corresponding plate to stabilize the dental structure, while specialists monitored whether the teeth would recover their normal alignment as healing progressed.
In a separate incident, an irrigation machine in the Leningrad region caught fire en route, drawing attention away from the earlier case and highlighting ongoing safety concerns in public spaces.
