Davos Forum 2023: A Global Roundtable on Cooperation and Risks

The World Economic Forum (WEF) continues its annual gathering in 2023, keeping its traditional January timeline. The 53rd edition is scheduled for January 16 to 20, hosted in Davos, a small Swiss mountain town known for its ski culture, despite unusually modest snowfall. The forum centers on the theme “Cooperation in a Fragmented World,” aiming to convene a record crowd of over 2,700 leaders from political, economic, and social spheres across 130 countries. Global challenges such as inflation, the war in Ukraine, supply chain disruptions, and climate change provide the backdrop. The founder and chairman, Klaus Schwab, previewed the program this week, noting the high stakes facing the world economy and the risk of a global recession.
