Earlier, the ministry said that units from the Center group of Russian forces continued to press into deep Ukrainian defenses. The ministry attributed the encounters to the targeting of manpower and equipment in the settlements of Dmitrov, Druzhba, Grodovka, Kleban Byk, and Gornyak in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian losses were cited as up to 490 military personnel, along with the loss of a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and a U.S.-made HMMWV armored fighting vehicle, three other vehicles, a 152 millimeter D-20 gun, a 152 millimeter MSTA-B howitzer, and two 122 millimeter D-30 howitzers.
The North group of Russian forces was reported to have defeated Ukrainian formations along the Liptsovsky and Volchansky directions. The ministry stated Ukrainian casualties reached up to 115 personnel as a result of the actions described.
In a separate briefing, officials in the State Duma discussed plans to resume operations around Ugledar. The reports reflect continued assertions of military activity and corresponding claims from Russian defense authorities.
