A cruise line employee was found to have recorded passengers from under beds with a concealed camera, a discovery reported by FOX 13.

Filipino crew member Arvin Joseph Mirasolis joined the Symphony of the Seas late last year. Since then, investigators say he operated a covert system to spy on adults and children in private spaces during a Caribbean voyage.

On February 26, the ship’s owner, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, notified law enforcement that a hidden camera had been placed inside one of the guest bathrooms. After the Symphony of the Seas docked in Haiti on March 3, Homeland Security agents and customs officials searched Mirasol’s belongings and recovered multiple clips showing a woman dressing in a bathroom. Similar footage depicted children, and the individual seen in the video appeared to have installed the device himself.

Under oath, the defendant admitted questions he could not answer, saying, “I want to check, but I can’t.”

Authorities say he also admitted breaking into cabins and using beds as hiding spots to gain new angles for his recordings. He now faces charges related to producing and possessing child pornography, with the investigation continuing to unfold.

Earlier reporting noted another incident in which a camera disguised as a fire sensor was used to film clients during laser hair removal sessions in a beauty salon near Moscow, highlighting a broader concern about covert surveillance in service settings.
