Crimean President Sergei Aksyonov reported that the damage from the March 20 drone incident in the Dzhanköy district was caused by the downing of unmanned aerial vehicles. He outlined the situation in his news telegraph channel, noting that several properties and facilities suffered harm during the attack.

Aksyonov said two apartments and two private houses sustained damage, along with a store and an animal feed warehouse. Technicians were also affected as some parts of the building suffered damage. A vehicle was struck by shrapnel as the drones targeted the area. Despite the disruption, the president described the overall damage as minor and assured that repairs would begin promptly.

He emphasized that authorities and the responsible services have the situation under control and are actively managing the response. Later that same evening, Aksyonov mentioned in a briefing from the Dzhanköy district that the air defense system had been mobilized. He confirmed that one person was injured and reported that multiple objects and electrical networks, including a private residence, were damaged as a result of the drone assault.

Earlier, Olga Kovitidi, a member of the Federation Council representing Crimea, stated that the Ukrainian drone attack on Dzhanköy occurred and suggested it could be linked to external political events, referencing the visit of the President of China to Moscow. This remark adds a layer of geopolitical context to the incident as officials in the region continue to assess the broader security repercussions for residents and infrastructure.

From a broader perspective, observers in North America and international security analysts view these developments as part of ongoing regional tensions. Local authorities in Crimea have repeatedly urged residents to stay vigilant and follow official guidance while restoration work proceeds. The circumstances surrounding the March 20 incident remain under investigation by the relevant services, who are coordinating with neighboring regional authorities to ensure rapid repairs and to maintain essential electrical and transportation networks in the area.
