A 46-year-old resident of Omsk is slated to face court over charges related to the assault and sexual abuse of a nine-year-old girl. The information was provided by the regional press office of the Investigative Committee.
The incident reportedly took place on August 28 of the previous year in the village of Novomyssk. According to investigators, a man with a prior release from a correctional facility encountered a schoolgirl who did not know him and led her to a secluded area, promising sweets as a lure.
There, the accused allegedly assaulted the girl with severe violence and sexual abuse, at times threatening to kill her. After the attack, he fled the scene. A local resident later found the girl by a road and alerted authorities, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement and medical services.
Authorities indicated that the criminal case is expected to be brought before a court in the near term. During the investigation, the suspect reportedly admitted guilt in full. Officials noted that the investigation has concluded and the decision on sending the case to court is under consideration.
The charge carries the potential of life imprisonment under relevant criminal statutes, reflecting the severity of the alleged offenses and the protections afforded to minors in criminal law enforcement.
In a separate but related report, it was disclosed that another alarming incident occurred in the Rostov region where a 10-year-old girl was reportedly assaulted in a public restroom by an individual found to be intoxicated. Authorities continue to investigate and emphasize the importance of safeguarding children and reporting suspicious behavior to ensure swift intervention and accountability.
