The Civil Guard notes a possible scenario in which the deceased may have started a vehicle with the gear engaged, raising the possibility that the person could have been accidentally run over by his own car while attempting this maneuver. The information comes from data reviewed by the authorities in relation to the incident.
Civil Guard surveillance
The body was discovered by an individual around 23:50 last Saturday, during a patrol operation performed by the Xaló Civil Guard. Agents were conducting a countersurveillance service after a complaint of ill-treatment filed by a woman residing in the municipality. While approaching the road leading to the victim’s home, the patrol halted a car and found a deceased person beneath it.
The Civil Guard immediately alerted the Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium and health services. With the involvement of the fire brigade, the body was moved and medical teams confirmed the person was deceased.
Upon checking the victim’s identification, authorities learned that the person had filed a report the day before and had obtained a restraining order against an ex-partner. The Calp Judicial Police unit of the Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation, coordinating the inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
