Chechen Leader Vows to Punish Ukrainian Forces Over Koran Fire Video

Chechnya’s leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, posted a message on a telegraph channel in which he pledged to pursue and punish the Ukrainian forces after a video purportedly showing a Koran being set on fire by Ukrainian soldiers circulated online. The post included a video he claimed was filmed by members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which he said should be scrutinized and condemned. In his remarks, Kadyrov stated with emphatic language that no effort would be spared to locate those responsible and to hold them to account, adding that he prayed for divine justice to hasten their downfall. He portrayed the incident as evidence of a supposed “fascist-devilish inner” among the Ukrainian military personnel, a characterization that reflects the charged rhetoric often used by Chechen authorities in this conflict.
