Ceuta’s National Police opened an inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding an alleged sexual assault against a minor. The individual was found nearly unconscious on a city sidewalk at dawn, prompting a rapid police response.
According to police sources cited by EFE, the incident is said to have occurred shortly before 05:00 on Wednesday morning on Sevilla Street, within the Campus district of the city. Residents reported noticing a young woman lying on the pavement, visibly distressed as dawn broke over the area.
Responding officers located the minor on the sidewalk, speaking in fragmented, uncertain phrases and appearing partially unresponsive as they approached the scene. The situation prompted an immediate medical evaluation alongside the initial police assessment.
The minor later claimed that she had been subjected to sexual harassment by a man. She was transported to the University Hospital for examination and care, where medical professionals provided treatment and observations as part of the ongoing response to the incident.
The National Police have initiated a formal inquiry to establish all facts surrounding the event and to identify and apprehend the individual alleged to be responsible for the assault.
