Ceiling Collapse at Bingo Rosales Leaves Three Injured
Three employees were hurt when the suspended ceiling in the Bingo Rosales game room collapsed on Sunday afternoon. The incident forced nearby Bazaar on Manacor Street to close temporarily due to the structural damage and safety concerns.
The collapse occurred around three o’clock in the afternoon in the Bingo Rosales venue. Inside the game room, the false ceiling gave way, impacting three workers aged 47 and 55 who were present at the time. The injuries were minor, with facial and head trauma reported but no serious or life-threatening conditions.
Residents and witnesses alerted emergency services immediately, prompting a rapid response from a range of responders. Palma Firefighters arrived on the scene, along with IB-Salud medical teams, the National Police, and the Palma Local Police. The coordinated effort aimed to secure the area, assess the damage, and provide medical care as needed.
Medical personnel attended to the three workers, confirming mild head injuries and facial trauma in some cases. All victims were stabilized at the scene and transported to a Palma clinic for further observation, where a favorable prognosis was noted in the days following the incident.
Investigators from the Palma Firefighters unit began an on-site examination to determine the causes of the ceiling collapse and to check for any further structural risks within the gaming area. Inspectors will examine the integrity of the ceiling, supports, and surrounding building elements to ensure there are no additional hazards. As a precaution, Bingo Rosales remained closed on Sunday while authorities conducted preliminary safety assessments, and the City Council of Palma was set to verify the overall condition of the building before any reopening decision is made.
