The Krasnoyarsk Central District Court has ruled that businessman Anatoly Bykov instigated a murder, sentencing him to 11 years in prison. Reports from TASS reference the prosecutor’s office of Krasnoyarsk Territory for the official update on the ruling. Including the earlier sentence, Bykov will serve a total term of 17 years in a strict regime colony.
The prosecutor’s office described the court’s action as partially adding to the sentence after considering prior decisions, culminating in a 17-year term to be served in a strict regime facility.
A separate matter involved a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights indicating that Bykov should receive €7,500 in compensation. Bykov, a Krasnoyarsk businessman, has faced conviction for organizing the murder of two people and participating in multiple other criminal cases.
Earlier, Bykov was sentenced to 13 years in prison for organizing the murders of two individuals in 1994. He has also been charged with leading a criminal organization and related murder offenses in July 2022, reflecting a long-standing pattern of alleged criminal activity linked to the region’s business and political landscape.
