“Burkina Faso Forces Launch Major Operation Against JNIM, Killing Local Leader near Napadé”

In central-eastern Burkina Faso, military forces reported a decisive engagement near the town of Napadé in Koulpélogo Province, where a security operation resulted in the elimination of more than one hundred individuals linked to the jihadist network known as the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM), the regional branch of Al Qaeda in the Sahel. The operation also claimed the life of a local commander identified as Dicko Tidjane, also known as Abu Darda, aged 37, who reportedly led a force of about 250 fighters conducting attacks across multiple communes. The information was disseminated by the AIB news agency, which described the event as a significant strike against the group in this region of Burkina Faso.
