The Bryansk regional authorities confirmed that the firearm used in the attack by the student was legally owned by the girl’s father and kept at home. This detail was provided by the Bryansk Ministry of Internal Affairs, which noted that the shotgun used by the minor belonged to the father and was stored lawfully at their residence.
Earlier remarks from the Bryansk regional governor, Alexander Bogomaz, indicated that two students injured in the gym attack were to be transported to Moscow for further treatment. Officials described the injured as being in stable yet serious condition, underscoring the severity of the incident while confirming medical needs beyond local facilities.
On the morning of December 7, the student arrived at school dressed entirely in black. A shotgun, identified as the father’s Bekas-3 smoothbore firearm, accompanied her. Proceeding to the fourth floor, the student entered her classroom, took a seat at her desk, produced the weapon, and opened fire on fellow students.
Subsequently, Viktor Zolotov, head of the Russian Guard, instructed licensing and permit officers to travel to Bryansk to review all aspects surrounding the event, including firearm documentation and regulatory compliance.
Regional investigative bodies subsequently opened a criminal case to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to pursue legal accountability where warranted.
Earlier disclosures about the girl who fired on classmates have been consolidated by authorities, with ongoing inquiries intended to clarify motive, sequence of events, and the safety considerations involved.
