Bridge Traffic and Emergency Measures Across the Crimean Route

The Krasnodar Territory’s operational headquarters reported a notable easing of traffic near the Crimean Bridge. The congestion that previously clogged the entry points has diminished, with current estimates indicating a three-kilometer backlog rather than a longer halt. The information was relayed via a telegraph channel known as Centre.

The Temryuk district administration confirmed that congestion at the bridge’s approach has eased considerably, estimating the delay at about three kilometers at this time.

The General Staff noted that motorists stuck at the bridge entrance were advised about alternative routes or the option to postpone their trips when possible.

Officials at the entrance to Temryuk district, and the routes from Anapa and Slavyansk-on-Kuban, continued to inform drivers that traffic across the bridge remained closed for the moment.

Crimean President Sergey Aksyonov announced during the night of July 17 that an emergency had occurred in the 145th support zone extending from the Krasnodar Territory.

As a consequence of the emergency, vehicle traffic on the Crimean Bridge was temporarily restricted and ferry operations were suspended.

Video footage from the scene showed that some lighting on the bridge was dimmed. Residents were urged to avoid making trips across the bridge while conditions were assessed.

Earlier coverage recalled the October 8, 2022 incident when a truck exploded on the Krymsky Bridge, igniting fuel tanks on the railway segment. The blaze damaged multiple spans and resulted in the deaths of five people, with rapid responses shaping subsequent safety measures.

There had been earlier recommendations from the Ministry of Transport to consider alternative routes through newly designated zones in response to the emergency affecting the Crimean Bridge.
