Three officers from the M department of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) face accusations of accepting bribes totaling more than 5 billion rubles. The information comes from TASS, citing law enforcement sources.

The case is being handled by the main investigation unit of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Alexey Tsarev, Sergey Manyshkin, and Alexander Ushakov are charged with several crimes, including attempts to solicit bribes exceeding 5 billion rubles. Ushakov is additionally accused of organizing a criminal group leveraging his official position to coordinate illicit activity.

According to investigators, Manyshkin and Tsarev reached an agreement with the inquiry process and are currently under house arrest.

On December 27, the Zamoskvoretsky Court ordered the arrest of Evgeniy Makovsky, head of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise St. Petersburg Research Institute of Vaccines and Serum and Enterprise for the Production of Bacterial Preparations, who is implicated in a case of bribery on a particularly large scale.

Earlier, Makovsky was detained in Sochi as part of investigations into a broader bribery matter connected with the deputy director of Roszapovedtsentr.

There have been prior reports about arrests involving officials linked to education ministries in Moscow, highlighting a broader pattern of corruption cases drawing national attention. These developments underscore ongoing enforcement efforts to address high-level bribery and to ensure accountability across state institutions.
