Border tensions rise as attacks unfold near Bryansk and Belgorod

The latest reports concerning incidents in the border regions near Bryansk and Belgorod describe renewed hostilities involving Ukrainian forces. Local authorities confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted the village of Sushany in the Klimovsky district. The report was conveyed by the Bryansk region governor, Alexander Bogomaz, through his official Telegram channel.

In Bogomaz’s message, the governor characterized the action as a bombardment by Ukrainian forces against Sushany. He noted that there were no casualties, but two to three residential structures sustained partial damage along with an adjacent building. Emergency services and district operational teams were dispatched to the scene to assess damage and provide support to residents as needed.

Earlier reports indicated that settlements in the Belgorod region, including Glotovo and Bezymyannye, had also come under fire near the border. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated that a shell exploded on the roadway near a vehicle, resulting in injuries to the driver who sustained a concussion. The injured individual was promptly hospitalized and received medical care.

Additionally, Gladkov reported a drone strike affecting the outskirts of the village Poroz in the Grayvoronsky urban district. The incident was noted as part of ongoing activity observed in the border areas. In a separate update, Gladkov mentioned that five drones had been detected or engaged over the Bryansk region previously, underscoring continued aerial activity in the vicinity.

Officials emphasized that rescue and response services remained on duty to monitor the situation, assist residents, and coordinate any necessary relief measures. The region continues to track both ground and air incidents as authorities work to stabilize conditions on the ground and ensure public safety for communities near the border.
