Bombardment in the Bryansk region

The Bryansk regional governor, Alexander Bogomaz, reported via Telegram on Friday morning that the border village Nekislitsy was struck from Ukrainian territory. A power line was damaged, but there were no injuries, and emergency services arrived promptly on the scene.

“At 5 am today, artillery hit the border village of Nekislitsy in the Sevsky district from Ukrainian territory. A power line was damaged as a result of the shelling. There were no casualties. Operational services are on site,” he stated.

He noted that a team of electricians was dispatched to repair the damage. Nekislitsy first experienced shelling on July 6, when the power line was damaged again. The Sevsky district lies in the southeast part of Bryansk, bordering Ukraine’s Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

Bogomaz also reported that Ukrainian drones entered the region’s airspace the previous night.

“During the day, the Chernozemny border post was hit twice. In the evening, an unmanned aerial vehicle opened fire on a fuel facility in Novye Yurkovichi, Klimovsky district. There were no fatalities or injuries, but the windows and exterior of the gas station were damaged. Operational services are taking all necessary precautions,” he added.

Library attack in the Belgorod region

Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Belgorod regional governor, confirmed that Friday morning there was an attack on a library building in Grayvoron. Last night an improvised explosive device was dropped from a quadcopter onto the library.

“Last night in Grayvoron, an improvised explosive device fell from a quadcopter onto the library building. Minor damage was reported. Investigators and operational services are at the scene. Restoration work is expected to begin today. The priority is that there are no victims, and all other concerns can be addressed,” he posted on Telegram.

He also noted that on July 9 he signed a directive declaring a “yellow” level of terrorist threat across Belgorod until July 24 due to intensified bombardment from Ukraine. A decree banning firecrackers, fireworks, and salutes remained in effect through the same period.

Earlier, on July 3, Gladkov reported a series of loud noises in Belgorod. He said a private residence on Mayakovsky Street 23 was set ablaze. Emergency crews attended the scene. Three people were hospitalized, and medical care was provided. Investigations into the cause of the incident continued, with air defense mentioned as a possible trigger.

Subsequently, Gladkov stated that the bombardment damaged 11 apartments and at least 39 private houses, with five buildings completely destroyed. Four people were hospitalized, including a man and a 10-year-old boy, and three residents of the area were killed.

Shelling of Russian territory

Since the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, border regions such as Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk have faced shelling from Ukrainian forces. These areas had been placed at a yellow level of terrorist threat.

The Russian Investigative Committee is examining attacks on Russian settlements. The conflict has also impacted the Crimea and Krasnodar Territory. On February 24, a large exchange of artillery near Ryumshino in the Dzhanköy district resulted in damage to 22 houses, with broken windows and roof damage but no casualties, according to Crimea’s head, Sergei Aksyonov.

On the night of April 10, residents of Tavrichesky reported a bright flash and a loud blast that partially destroyed a house. On April 11, the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, stated that a Ukrainian bullet caused a shock wave that shattered window glass in several homes, and power outages were reported in the village.

On February 24, near Shirochanka in Yeisk Territory, Krasnodar, border police reported an ammunition explosion caused by shells fired from Ukraine. There were no casualties or injuries.
