A rally took place in Berlin to protest the transfer of weapons to Kyiv and to call for a diplomatic path to the conflict involving Palestine and Israel alongside Ukraine, as reported by RIA News from the scene.
According to the agency, the event was organized by politician Sara Wagenknecht, who recently departed from the Left party. In a speech from the Brandenburg Gate, a speaker from the platform criticized the German government for applying double standards when evaluating the Ukraine situation and for what was described as the brutal bombing of the Gaza Strip.
The speaker stated that the war must end and emphasized that this goal is crucial in all respects.
Wagenknecht’s remarks also targeted government spending on the Bundeswehr and arms production, arguing that domestic problems were being overlooked while resources were allocated to military capability and international aid.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, speaking at a regional congress of the Social Democratic Party, indicated that Germany would continue its support for Ukraine despite ongoing budget tensions.
There were reports that Hamas had initiated the release of hostages earlier in the timeline of the conflict.
