The hunt for Eurovision 2024’s hopeful representative continues to captivate fans and pundits alike. In Benidorm, sixteen acts will defend their songs on the grand stage, each aiming to win over the audience and the judges with a distinctive sound and a memorable performance. Among the entries, Nebulossa stands out as a featured act in the Benidorm Festival lineup, signaling the competition’s blend of fresh talent with storytelling traditions that have defined the contest for years. A few weeks before the festival, YOTELE sat down for an interview to explore the narratives behind these tracks and what makes them resonate in today’s musical landscape.

But the sixteen contestants aren’t the only voices to grace the Benidorm stage. In addition to the core lineup, well-known artists Sergio Dalma, Abraham Mateo, Camellia, and vicco have been invited as guest performers. Their participation adds an extra layer of excitement, offering fans a chance to see established stars alongside rising talents and to witness how guest appearances complement the competition’s overall dynamic. These moments echo the festival’s tradition of blending competition with celebration and showcase moments, keeping the audience engaged across every night of the event.

The public broadcaster unveiled a new trailer that confirms these four guest acts and revisits the festival calendar. The schedule highlights three key dates: the first semi-final on January 30, the second semi-final on February 1, and the grand finale on February 3. The trailer also hints at the atmosphere, pacing, and energy that will drive the evenings, inviting viewers to follow the progression from semi-finals to the climactic finale as the field narrows and the competition intensifies. As in prior editions, these nights are crafted to mix suspense with moments of celebration, giving audiences plenty to discuss in the days between events.

The hosting trio for the galas will be Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Calderó, and Ana Prada, bringing a blend of experience and charisma to the stage. In addition, Ines Hernand and Aitor Albizua will oversee the companion program Night Benidorm Festival, a post-show format that provides fans with behind-the-scenes stories, interviews, and live reactions after each gala. This structure helps extend the festival experience beyond the main broadcasts, offering audiences more context about performances, staging choices, and the evolving narrative of the competition as it unfolds.

Contract renewal

With the festival rapidly approaching, discussions between RTVE representatives and local authorities intensified to secure terms for the 2024 edition. A prospective agreement was on the table between Valencia’s regional leadership and the City Hall of Benidorm, signaling commitment to the forthcoming event and its potential impact on tourism, culture, and regional pride. On January 18, a pivotal meeting brought together Elena Sánchez Caballero, the president of RTVE, and Antonio Pérez, representing Benidorm, alongside Carlos Mazón, the president of the Generalitat Valenciana. The discussions culminated in a public acknowledgment of financial contributions from different levels of government: the Generalitat Valenciana pledged 1.5 million euros, while the city council committed 250,000 euros. This funding framework underscored collaboration between national, regional, and local authorities to ensure the festival’s success and footprint.
