There are just over 24 hours remaining until the first semi-final of Benidorm Fest, where eight performers—Angy Fernández, Lérica, Mantra, Miss Caffeina, Nebulossa, Noan, Quique Niza, and Sofia Coll—will compete for a spot in the final on Saturday, February 3. This morning, TVE revealed the awe-inspiring stage design that will captivate the audience with its inventive visuals and dynamic lighting as the artists present their acts.
During the visit, attended by representatives from RTVE, the Generalitat Valenciana, and the Benidorm City Council, the broadcaster showcased the decor and layout of the venue that will host the competition once again: Palau d’Esports L’Illa de Benidorm.
Key areas within the pavilion are arranged for different purposes, including backstage (391.81 m2), the main stage (580.28 m2), the audience pit (680.39 m2), the Green Room (475 m2), and the press area (657 m2. The combined footprint, considering landscape, audience, and technical zones, reaches approximately 5,000 m2, as outlined by TVE in an official press release.
The central stage features a fixed screen positioned at the heart of the performance area, backed by a prominent structural element shaped as a large, self-illuminated elliptical arch. A movable screen sits within this arch and can shift transversely, creating a six-meter unlit opening that facilitates the entry and exit of moving scenic elements between backstage and the main stage.
On both sides, there are two symmetrical curved structures that support a side screen measuring 7.5 meters in width and 6 meters in height. Exits on each shoulder provide access for smaller stage members, the technical crew, and the artists. Two additional curved-edge screens adorn the stage’s outer boundaries, creating a cohesive and immersive visual frame.
Embedded into the floor is a large circular screen protected by a clear glass surface, complemented by three self-illuminating LED arches positioned around it to enhance depth and drama on concert nights and show moments alike.
This is the Green Room
The second focal point of the setup is the Green Room, designed as a relaxed yet high-tech lounge area connected to the audience flow. Access is via stairs from the sides, and eight large circular rings furnished with sofas and self-illuminated tables create inviting spaces for artists to unwind after their performances.
Two symmetrical circular zones flank the plan: one reserved for the jury and the other for the presenters’ set, each designed to accommodate eight people and to support smooth, on-stage transitions during events.
Within the Green Room area, a prominent, self-illuminating banner with RGB LEDs will serve as a vibrant backdrop. The remainder of the space houses practical elements: the technical tower housing lighting, sound, and screen control crews, equipment platforms such as cameras and cranes, walkways for crew movement, and controlled public access for staff and technicians. The overall design prioritizes seamless coordination between performance moments and behind-the-scenes operations.
