The regional governor of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, stated that Ukrainian forces opened fire on the area. He made this report through his official channels. The information comes from his latest briefing via the governor’s Telegram channel.
According to Gladkov, the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka came under bombardment, but there were no reported casualties at the time of his briefing.
Gladkov noted that fragments from shrapnel damaged the facades and shattered the windows of three private homes. One bullet struck a shed, damaging its roof as well. He said that emergency and operational services are actively working to assess and respond to the situation in the affected settlements.
He added that door-to-door checks and patrols are currently underway to ensure residents’ safety and to identify any additional needs in the community.
Earlier reports indicated that a large piece of armored film, covering approximately 65 thousand square meters, was set to remain in place over the windows of schools and kindergartens in Belgorod to bolster protection ahead of the new school year.
