The situation unfolded when a shell hit a private residential building, tragically taking the life of a woman aged 51. Emergency responders were on the scene and provided medical assistance to the deceased’s daughter, aiming to stabilize her during a critical moment.
Officials conveyed that another shell impacted a separate residence, destroying that home. While no one was inside at the time, debris from the blast damaged two additional private houses and disrupted the village’s gas supply, complicating recovery efforts for residents seeking to return to normalcy. Local authorities stressed that rapid response measures were deployed to assess damage, secure affected properties, and restore essential services where possible.
The regional leadership also noted that emergency and operational teams remained at the scene to manage the aftermath and coordinate ongoing relief activities. Earlier, on February 22, officials reported an additional bombardment affecting the city of Shebekino, attributed to actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The bombardment left three people injured and caused damage to a number of homes, underscoring the ongoing volatility in the border area and the persistent risk to civilians living near the front lines.
