In the Belgorod region, Russian air defense units reportedly intercepted and destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle of the aircraft type. The information was communicated by Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, via his telegram channel. He stated that the drone was deployed as part of an attack on the village of Novostroevka-Vtoraya in the Grayvoronsky urban district, and that the force conducting the strike was the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the governor, explosives were dropped from the drone onto parked vehicles near a residential building. The impact caused damage and scratches on several vehicles due to the blast wave, while no human casualties were reported. Gladkov emphasized that there were no losses among residents or military personnel as a result of this incident.
Earlier, the governor also reported high-intensity activity in the region, noting that on a recent day approximately 130 artillery shots had been registered. The greatest concentration of fire was directed toward the village of Dolgoye, where around 20 rounds impacted. A private house sustained damage during the shelling, and one local resident sustained a head injury from shrapnel and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
In related developments, authorities have indicated the implementation of a new drone suppression system in Russia, a measure aimed at countering unmanned aerial threats. The regional authorities stressed that safety measures remain a priority for residents amid ongoing military operations and security incidents in border areas.
