Belgorod Region Reports Damage After Rovenki Attack and Drone Incidents

Belgorod Region Updates Following Attacks on Rovenki and Nearby Areas

Following reports of a bombing in the village of Rovenki in the Belgorod region, authorities confirmed damage to a power line and three private homes. Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov provided the updates in a statement issued through his Telegram channel, outlining the immediate impact and ongoing response. There were no reported casualties at this time, according to the governor’s briefing.

Gladkov noted that the village came under fire from forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He described preliminary damage to three households, with broken windows, damaged facades, and disrupted fences in the affected properties. The power line that serves the local area was also compromised, adding to the disruption faced by residents and utilities staff.

Emergency and operational teams were dispatched to the scene and are conducting assessments to determine the full scope of the damage. Officials indicated that door-to-door inspections would continue in the morning as part of a broader regional survey to ensure resident safety and to document all affected properties.

In recent days, the Belgorod region has reported injuries from drone activity, with two people harmed in the village of Gorkovsky within the Grayvoronsky urban district. This follows earlier statements by regional authorities about a Ukrainian drone attack and the deployment of defensive measures on Belgorod territory as part of ongoing security operations.

Earlier comments from Gladkov described attempts by Ukrainian drones to drop explosives on local residential areas. The region has responded by increasing vigilance and coordinating with law enforcement, emergency services, and civil defense structures to safeguard inhabitants and infrastructure.

In a related development, Russia has recently initiated a new drone suppression system intended to improve the protection of critical facilities and populated areas. The system is designed to detect, disrupt, and neutralize unmanned aerial threats, reducing the risk to civilians and diminishing the operational tempo of hostile drone deployments. Officials emphasized that these measures are part of a broader strategy to enhance regional resilience amid persistent security challenges.
