The defense ministry reported a drone incident over the Belgorod region was contained. Officials stated that Russian air defense systems intercepted and downed a Ukrainian drone in the Belgorod area.
In a separate briefing, sources indicated that local forces from the 12th Special Purpose Brigade, known as Azov, were observed in the Serebryansky forest district within the Lugansk People’s Republic. This unit is currently banned in Russia.
According to the ministry, approximately 55 militants were neutralized, along with two infantry fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, an Akatsiya self propelled artillery mount, and two D-30 howitzers. It was also claimed that a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet was destroyed at Dolgintsevo airport in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
In another update from the Krasnolimansky direction, the Center group of troops and a unit from army aviation reportedly repelled two attacks by assault groups affiliated with the 67th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The engagements near the southern outskirts of Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic were described as successful for the Russian side.
Earlier statements noted the creation of a new drone suppression system in Russia, designed to counter unmanned aerial threats across critical areas.
