The governor overseeing the Belgorod border region announced that the current academic year will wrap up sooner than planned for schools situated in municipalities along the border. The decision affects all border communities, with the exception of examinations that are still on the schedule.
According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the regional administration will ensure the school year finishes across border municipalities. He stated that holidays offering health benefits for children outside the region will be extended, particularly in the Graivoronsky and Shebekinsky districts, where a separate intake of applications will open to support families seeking recuperative breaks for their students beyond regional borders.
In another development, it was reported that the final calls from students in eleven Belgorod municipalities will be conducted remotely. All festive events within institutions located within a 15 kilometer stretch along the border have been prohibited, aligning with heightened security measures for the region.
Since mid-April, there has been a persistent yellow level threat of terrorism linked to ongoing bombardment activity in the Belgorod area. Local authorities are emphasizing caution and continuity of essential services while monitoring the evolving security situation.
